Inspired by Her | Keri Soltoski of FOUND

April 28, 2017

Meet Keri Soltoski from the company, FOUND. We met Keri and her husband at Playtime our first season and it was an instant friendship. We trust her eye and aesthetic so much! There's perfect symmetry between our brand and hers!

FOUND is an eclectic multi-brand shop that brings you carefully curated goods for kiddos, the people that raise 'em and their homes. Keri Soltoski and her husband Adam started the company in 2016 after Adam staged an intervention because Keri's shopping for their little ones, Nixon and Arlo, was getting a little out of control. Mixing their love for vintage goods, slow fashion and indie brands, they set out to create a space that anyone and everyone could love.

1) What sparked your interest in Kids Fashion?
The biggest ‘thing’ that sparked my interest was just how few options there were for boys at the typical kids stores. Plaid shorts, tee shirt, sandals- in your choice of gray, navy, or green. It was boring, so I set out to find some more variety. Instagram really opened my eyes to just how many awesome children’s designers there were.

2) What's your favorite quote/mantra that you live by?

One day at a time. It seems to fit perfect for any and all scenarios in life.

3) What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started your business?
The biggest lesson I have learned thus far is to always trust your instincts. Especially with people.

4) What advice would you give to aspiring women entering the industry?
Be ready. Its entirely more time consuming than you could possibly imagine. Set a schedule for yourself and try your hardest to stick to it. Working from ‘home’, you never really turn it off. Its hard to stop working, I feel like I can never really check out and just be present. I am working on it though.

5) What the next big step for your business? What can we expect to see in the near future?
Our next real goal is to start focusing on a brick and mortar location. We are still a ways away from that dream- but the vision is there. In the meantime, we are going to be getting more involved in our own community, using our store’s platform as a place to focus on issues that are important to us: our planet and our politics.
